Weltsch, Robert (1891-1983) Born 1891 in Prague. The leader of Zionism in Germany As a student, he joined the Bar Kokhba Student Union, which was active in Prague before World War I and was influenced by Martin Buber. After World War I, he moved to Germany, where in the 1920s became editor of the Jewish journal "Juedische Rundschau" -a position he held until 1938. He emigrated to Palestine that year and remained active as a journalist. After the war, he lived in London for a lengthy period and returned to Israel for his last years.
